Travel Tips and Tricks Tuesday!
Hi everyone! It is time for our first episode of Travel Tips and Tricks. These episodes will be posted every Tuesday from now on. My hope is that these tips and tricks will help you like they have helped me when traveling. In this episode I am covering attractions/excursions that require you to wear a helmet; such as, zip-lining or bike riding.
Chances are you won’t have your own personal helmet from home and the staff will provide you one that has been worn by a lot of other people. The staff most likely sanitizes the helmets after every use, but there are still risks and smells. Especially if, like me, you have sensitive skin.
Thankfully, a good friend of mine told me of a trick to add a bit of protection. My friend is a Diamond member with Carnival Cruise Lines. For those that don’t know what a Diamond Member is, it is a statues you earn after completing 200 or more cruise days. So as you can see my friend is well traveled. My mom and I were planning a cruise and one of our excursions would require us to wear helmets. When I was explaining our trip to my friend, she suggested wearing a bandana on our heads when wearing the helmets. Mainly so our hair wouldn’t stink from the helmets, but thinking about it now the bandana did more than just prevent my hair from being smelly. It protected my hair and scalp from any lingering germs and harsh chemicals that might have otherwise damaged my hair and irritated my scalp.
So next time you are planning a trip and one of the attractions/excursions you want to go on requires helmets, I highly recommend bringing a bandana for your head. They are fairly cheap and can be purchased almost anywhere.
Until next time 😘
