Tuesday Travel Tips and Tricks Episode 5

Welcome back fellow Adventurers to another fun filled episode of Tuesday Travel Tips and Tricks. Today we will covering why you should consider bringing a spare pair of shoes when going to the beach. I know it sounds strange to bring a spare pair of shoes to the beach, but it does come in handy.

My mom and I learned this trick one summer during a trip to Ship Island. On this trip we only brought one pair each of shoes. When we were heading back to the ferry to go home, we did stop to rinse off at the shower areas. We rinsed off our shoes, that were covered in sand, very thoroughly. However, sand doesn't always come off so easily. By the time we made it back to the car, on the mainland, both of us had blisters from left over sand in our shoes.

The next trip to Ship Island we took a spare pair of shoes each along with gallon zip lock bags. When it came time to leave the island we rinsed everything just like last time; however, this time we put the shoes we rinsed off into the zip lock bags and put on our clean spare pair of shoes. This trip, we ended with no blisters on our feet from the sand. We have used this trick ever since.

So if you are planning a beach trip, I highly recommend bringing a spare pair of shoes with you so you can change into them afterwards. You will be saving your feet from those uncomfortable blisters. You'll also be a little more comfortable when heading home. I hope this helps you on your next beach trip!

    Until next time!
