Travel Tips and Tricks Episode: 9 Identification
Welcome back my fellow Adventurers to another exciting episode of Travel Tips and Tricks. Last week we talked about how handy small travel bottles can be. This week we are discussing the importance of identification and keeping it on you while traveling. So without further adieu lets get started.
Having your ID with you is very important whether you are just going around town or traveling. So always make sure your ID and passport are up to date. If you are driving to your destination, then make sure you also have your vehicle insurance up to date as well. The reason for that is because if you get pulled over and neither is up to date you're going to be in bigger trouble then you already were. If you break down or something else happens you will need an up to date ID and insurance.
If you are on a cruise, it is a requirement to have a valid ID or passport (not expired) just to board the ship. You need it to get off the ship when docked at any location. You need it to even get back on the ship at any location. Plus if you are late getting back to the ship and it leaves without you, you'll need your valid ID or passport, phone, and some way to make payments in order to either fly to the next port on your cruise route or fly back home. If you leave any of that on the ship or they are expired, you are basically up the creek without a paddle.
My mom and I almost made that mistake on a cruise when we docked in Costa Maya. But my mom got a feeling and we hurried back to our room to get our IDs. We almost didn't make it to the meet point for our excursion. The meet up point was right on the other side of an ID and passport check point. Thankfully we had went back to get our IDs or we wouldn't have been able to get to our excursion at all.
So moral of the story is, keep IDs, passports, and insurance up to date and on your person when traveling. You never know when you'll need it and why you'll need it. I hope this helps.
Until next time fellow Adventurers.
