Travel Tips and Tricks Episode: 28
Welcome back my fellow Adventurers to another exciting episode of Travel Tips and Tricks! Last week we talked about formal wear rentals on a Carnival Cruise. This week we are going to be talking about bringing your own snorkeling gear when on a cruise or trip. So let’s get started!
When I was a kid my family went to a water amusement park. It was really fun and they even had a place where you could snorkel with small reef sharks. The employees provided us with goggles and a snorkel to swim with. The whole experience was great; however, after returning the equipment the my face started to feel very uncomfortable and had a burning sensation. For those that don’t know, I have sensitive skin. So when my face got that burning sensation I knew I was having a reaction to something that was on the equipment. Thankfully they had showers nearby. I quickly went and rinsed my face off really well. The burning sensation did lessen but it did last for about an hour or so. I had watched earlier while employees were putting the equipment into barrels filled with a disinfectant solution. My family and I quickly realized I had a reaction to the cleaning solution.
So now I always research to see if I can bring my own snorkeling equipment. In most cases, like cruises, I can. However, I don’t know about places like the water amusement park. I know I’m allowed to at the my local water park, cruises, and planes. If you have sensitive skin like I do and can sometimes have a reaction to disinfectant solutions that are used, like the reaction I had to the cleaning solution used on the snorkeling equipment at that water park, then I definitely recommend bringing your own whenever you can. Since I started bringing my own when I travel I haven’t had another reaction.
Well that pretty much wraps up this episode. A new location episode will be released on Thursday and Spirit will be back to wrap up the week on Saturday. I hope this episode helps everyone have a safe and fun time while traveling!
Until next time my fellow Adventurers!
